Despite living and working close to York, this medieval city never loses its magic. A walk round The City Walls The City Walls – City of York Council and a visit to the remarkable National Railway Museum National Railway Museum this week reminded us why York is one of the most visited places in England- a compelling blend of extraordinary history, and beautiful architecture- and plenty of lovely cafes and restaurants too.

Planning is starting in Staveley for our annual Open Gardens event in the early summer which is coupled with a Festival of Garden Flowers in All Saints Church. It’s a feat of imagination to believe that in only a few short months our garden will be transformed into summer paradise!
I think the highlight of the week for me, was spotting 12 Long Tailed Tits on the nut feeders in the garden: such tiny pretty birds.
